Integrated Varroa Management Tuition – 26 March 2011

The New Forest BKA have organised a day of tuition on Integrated Varroa Management and been kind enough to extend an invitation to members of neighbouring associations.  The day is being run in conjunction with the National Bee Unit with tuition being provided by Nigel Semmence (Chief Disease Officer for Southern England) and his team of inspectors.

The team will teach and demonstrate the latest techniques and methods of controlling Varroa. There will be one lecture and three workshops starting at 10.00am and finishing around 4.00pm.

The venue is the Lyndhurst Community Centre and the cost is £10 which includes tea and biscuits on arrival, a ploughman’s lunch and afternoon tea and biscuits.

Tickets for BBKA Spring Convention

The BBKA Spring Convention is to be held at Stoneleigh Park 15th – 17th April 2011. With more than 50 lectures, workshops and courses in the programme, it offers something for everyone interested in beekeeping. This year there are some new venues including the Princethorpe Suite, the main lecture hall.

Please be aware that tickets purchased on the BBKA web-site after Thursday 31st March 2011 will be made available for collection on the door after 09.00. From the 1st April 2011 the tickets will no longer be the “in advance” but will be the “on the day” rate at £16.00 for members and £22.00 for non-members. 17 and under no charge.
